| Install Replacement Battery Step 1: |

Using a screwdriver begin to pry open the side of the case, starting around the area that lines up with play forward button (ffwd) as shown. Gently twist the srcew drive and pry up the bottom corner cloesest to the screwdriver. |

With the screwdriver wedged inside the case, carefully work your way up to the top of the Ipod, unclipping the case clips as you go. |
Install Replacement Battery Step 3: |

With one side of the case fully unclipped, using your fingers to support the hard drive you can now flip the main section of the Ipod face down. |

Be carefull not to damage the ribbon cable connected to the back case cover. |

Using the screwdriver and your fingers, disconnect the power cord connector from the socket. Please pay attention to the original orientation. |

Using a torx wrench, remove the two screws at the end of the main board, next to the power cable. |

Slide the power cable around the main board. |

Holding the hard drive with one hand and using your fingers or the tip of the screw driver, carefully unglue and remove the battery from the glue spots.
(Start at the corner of the battery, there are ribbon cables underneath the battery and this will reduce the risk of damage. Be careful not to over extend and damage the hard drive ribbon cables.)
Apply the new battery to the original orientation and glue spots, move the power cable around the main board to the original spot and insert the connector into the socket, put back the two screws, wile supporting the hard drive with your fingers flip the main section back over to the front and snap the case back on. |
